Accidental Damage Insurance



Space City Drones has partnered with Consumer Priority Service (CPS) to provide its customers with an extended warranty for accidental damage. Most drones are offered with a 6 months manufacturer’s warranty but that does not cover the accidental damages, in the event of a crash landing. Customers are often faced with the fear of investing a lot of money on a drone and then losing it by crashing. We at Space City Drones want to take that fear away from our customers by providing the option of insurance that can help them fly with ease. Clear and complete information about the insurance is given to our customers, so that they get to choose what is best for their drones. We do not desire to sell this insurance, however we do desire to have happy and satisfied customers.

The extended warranty by CPS will cover the drones that you purchase from Space City Drones. If you were to purchase a camera and a gimbal along with your drone, the extended warranty still covers them too. However, if you buy the gimbal and camera separately from another source, then the insurance will not be applicable on the concerned items.

Should I purchase my drone from you to get this warranty?

A: It would be great if you could buy the drone of your choice from us and get the required warranty on it. However, you can also get the CPS extended warranty protection for accidental damage for a drone that you might have purchased from another source too.

What all does the CPS warranty cover?

A: The extended warranty by CPS covers all the parts and labor on internal hardware failure. It also covers the damages that occur from crashes, water/moisture damage, impact damage, etc.

When does the period of extended warranty start?

A: The warranty period starts 31 days after you have bought it.

What is not covered with the extended warranty on accidental damage?

A: Any item that is not included in the original box from the manufacturer during the time of purchase, will not be covered under this extended warranty.

Does this extended warranty cover the camera or gimbal?

A: Yes it is covered, only if the camera or gimbal is one among the contents in the box from the manufacturer.

Does the extended warranty cover the rechargeable battery?

A: Batteries that are damaged due to water, impact or accidental damage are covered under this extended warranty. However, batteries that are unable to hold full charge under normal usage is not covered.

Does this warranty plan cover the remote control too?

A: Yes, the remote control is covered under the CPS for any malfunctions or accidental damage claims.

Is there a deductible?

A: Yes, there is a deductible that is based on the purchase price of the drone.

How do I file for claims?

  • A: It can be done online through their client care account at www.cpscentral.com
  • An email can be sent to cs@cpscentral.com
  • You can also call the CPS customer service department at 1-800-905-0443

At the time of claim in the service center, who is supposed to pay for the shipping?

A: The customer is required to pay for all the shipping charges to and from the authorized service center.

Will the extended warranty cover still be effective after the CPS repairs are done?

A: Certainly yes, the coverage will be effective until the contract expires or if the entire drone is replaced under warranty.

How many times can the customer claim under this extended warranty?

A: The customer is authorized to file unlimited claims on their drone but the coverage will end if the repair costs reach the original price of the product.

What will happen if the drone is beyond the state of repair?

A: If CPS is not able to fix the drone, they will end up replacing it with a new one.

Can we transfer the warranty?

A: The warranty can be transferred between owners but not between products. Please note: $25.00 transfer fee will be applied while transferring the warranty.
