DJI has never ceased to amaze us with its unique drones. Recently they shocked the world with the Mavic Pro which has revolutionized the world of drones with its sleek design and functionality. Now DJI has stepped up its arsenal with the DJI Goggles. It is not only new on the outside but is quite new on the inside as well. The single adjustable headband gives you a comfortable fit for prolonged periods of use. Though the front section looks heavy, it does not feel heavy once you get to wear it.
Inside the front panel, there are two display panels that boast a 1080p Full HD resolution. Instead of a single split screen, DJI has stepped up the game by providing dual screens for a truly immersive experience. Both the displays have an 85 degree field of view which enables you to enjoy the magnificent aerial views. Another benefit of having dual displays is that you get to control the Mavic proficiently. There are two buttons at the base of the googles for menu navigation. A scroll wheel is present to aid in precise focusing for those crystal clear videos.
The dual 1080p displays get their live video feed directly from the Mavic’s 4K camera instead of looping with the controller. This results in a brilliant video feed without any lag. The wireless connection is made possible with DJI’s exclusive “OcuSync” technology that lets you enjoy a cable-free viewing experience at all times.
There is also an option of pairing two pairs of DJI goggles to the same Mavic drone, if required. This unique feature lets you and your friend to enjoy breathtaking views at the same time from the same camera. The build quality, as with all DJI products is exceptionally good. The edges are smoothly contoured and the buttons seamlessly integrated into the main body to avoid accidental clicks.
If you have pre-ordered the DJI Mavic, then make sure to add the DJI goggles to your collection. It is bound to give you a breathtaking first person viewing experience like no other. This is truly the latest kid on the block and is sure to be a game changer in the world of drone aviation.
